A Big Boy Toy - 2008 Harley Davidson Night Train
A toy for the “Big Boys”, this is what I tell my friends when they see me riding around on my HD. It has been a while since I’ve written anything about my motorcycle project or information on any new modifications added on to my ride. So, I’ve decided to create this small video to [...]
Learn MoreHow To Be A Good Club Promoter
Have you ever wondered what does it really takes to be a good club promoter? It is actually quite easy and simple to do. Just provide the best customer service, make sure your guests are handled with care and treat them very special.
Being in the club promotion industry for more than 10 years, I have seen so many promoters come and go. The ones that were able to last the longest in this industry all have that special niche which allowed them to stay in the business for a very long time. Nevertheless, the number one thing that all good club promoters had in common was their approach in providing great quality service.
This is an industry based on retention, so in order to maintain your clientele base you must provide a high brand of quality service. From my experience, I was able to set the following guidelines, which allowed me to be a top producer within my organization:
Quality Service
When ever you receive a phone call or email from your clients. Respond back to them as soon as possible and never let it lag. Find out what their needs and assist them on it. Ask them to see if you can help them with any dinner reservations, guest list admissions, VIP table reservation, and invitations. Find out what is the occasion for that night. Like, is it a birthday party, graduation, bachelor/bachelorette party, guys/girls night out, or some form of special event? If you can target their needs, you can create a wonderful event plan, which can blow their mind.
I remember a while back, I received an email from a girl asking information about having their party at this night club I was hosting in Hollywood. I found out that she was trying to organize a surprise birthday party for her boyfriend and that she was expecting over 100 people. With that said, I asked her some questions regarding any concerns and special treatments she would like to see happen. Needless to say, I assisted her by creating the following birthday package:
- Private Room – Which required wrist band entrance
- Special Guest List for their party
- Decoration and complimentary champagne (provided by sponsor)
- Personalize flyer design invitation
The Follow Up
During the night of an event, I always made it a practice to follow up with my clients to find out if everything is OK. As a Club Promoter, our goal is to have a successful event and our number one priority is to make sure that our client is happy with the services. So, I would usually chit chat for a while with the clients making sure they are happy, start networking with their friends and also try to get to know all of them. I always inform everyone that, if they need any form of assistance never hesitate to contact me and I will try much as possible to accommodate them.
After a few days, I would usually send a thank you email and follow up with personal phone call asking about their experience that night. You will be surprise about the response you’ll get back just by making a simple phone call. Just by doing this you can increase your chances maintaining a well-kept clientele base and more referrals.
Being a club promoter is very simple, but being a good club promoter takes time and persistance. Just by sticking to the basics and providing great service, you will be on your way to the top and will be able to leverage yourself well with nightclub owners and promoter affiliates.

Could not have said it better myself Nixon.
The club in NY is Lava, its Upstate New York so if you stay in the city you wont have to worry about it…but you may still run into bad table service in NYC…you pretty much get what you pay for but nothing is cheap.
Take care and good luck!
ReplyAm new to the promoting industry (Germany). Is a little irritating because I’m not proficient at the language just yet. Any ideas on how to get to people in general without having to say too much? In this case I’m not talking about the hospitality aspect of promoting, but more so the marketing and getting the word out. Would love to hear what you have to say. Thanks.

ReplyFirst you need to market yourself or your group. Create some business cards with your information so you can pass out. Also have some marketing material on you to pass out like flyers regarding the event. Make sure the flyers has your contact information if people have questions about your event. The real major thing about promoting is the street promotion. You need to work the streets to get people into your club.
