The Long Awaited Parts from Performance Machine

Posted on September 12th, 2008 by Nixon in Motorcycle Project

A few days ago, I dropped off my motorcycle at Todd’s Cycle in preparation for my new modification. It has been about more than three months in the waiting and all of my ordered parts have finally arrived. It was kind of hard for me to believe that I actually waited for more than three months just to get these certain parts from Performance Machine in order to make my Night Train look good.

It was back around late May on a beautiful Sunday morning. My friends and I were taking our weekend ride up to Cook’s Corner in Orange County. This place is a very popular destination point for all types of bikers, especially all the Harley riders. As we arrived at our destination point, my friend Junior Asperor, noticed that they were having some type of function going on that afternoon, which included a live band, vendors and outdoor BBQ. At the hangout point, the parking lot was packed with sports bikes, hds, custom choppers, and even mopeds. Even along the roads leading to and away Cook’s Corner you can see some many motorcycles and vehicles parked outside.

At the back of Cook’s Corner, there was a large blue tent that had a bike being displayed with the latest parts from Performance Machine. To be honest during that time, I just recently purchased my Night Train and was not really in any mood to considering purchasing any forms of parts or accessories for my bike. As we went up to the tent I noticed something different about the bike display and was so enthralled with the new rims and sprockets, which PM has created. That was the beginning of my personal bike modification project that created an ongoing emotional rollercoaster ride of anticipation and wants.

Performance Machine came out with these great rims called “Heathens” which are billet contour wheels with a great contrast cut design, which stood out like now other. The best part of these rims is that the contrast cut finish leaves the exposed aluminum in a raw machined state, which creates a great look.

A week later, I decided to do some research on the company and the products, which they offered. From searching around on the internet, forums, magazines, and spoke to different riders, I ended up purchasing a large portion of parts from this company. Unbelievably, I ended up purchasing the following:
*Performance Machine Front and Rear Heathen Contrast Rims
*Performance Machine Heathen Drive Side Rear Breaks
*Performance Machine Heathen Drive Side Disc
*13” Front Disc
*13” Caliper
*Performance Machine Heathen Pulley
*240 Fender Kit

Feeling like a kid on Christmas Eve, the only thing I can do is wait until the modification is done. This was a major “ouch” to my wallet, but I truly believe the waiting for the parts was worth it. Until then, ride safe and I will send out an updated post regarding the build.
