A Big Boy Toy - 2008 Harley Davidson Night Train
A toy for the “Big Boys”, this is what I tell my friends when they see me riding around on my HD. It has been a while since I’ve written anything about my motorcycle project or information on any new modifications added on to my ride. So, I’ve decided to create this small video to [...]
Learn MoreTo Build, Or Not To Build, That Is The Question
Before I even purchased my bike a few months ago, I had this one major question lingering in my head “To Build, or Not to Build”. If I do purchase a bike, will I be adding parts to it and altering the look and feel or will I leave it stock and keep it simple. Needless to say, I elected “To Build”.
Here is a video clip of my motorcycle prior to the changes:
Romeo Asprer, a very good friend, who convinced me to purchase my first Harley Davidson motorcycle at Laidlaw’s Harley in the city of Baldwin Park. He alone helped me with my decision-making and assisted me with my vision of my new bike. With his guidance, he informed three key points to making a stock motorcycle looking clean with a custom look and feel.
Simple Basic Altering Tips:
- Exhaust System – Replace the stock exhaust system with a nicer and better performance system. The current exhaust system on a Harley Davidson is nice and simple, but it does not really have that sound that we are all accustom to hearing. In my personal opinion, a Harley motorcycle should have that nice deep rumbling sound that can be heard from far away. But here are a few exhaust manufactures you may want to consider: Rineheart, Vance & Hines, Python and D&D.
- Seat – Replace the stock seat if you can. You will be surprise to see that by replacing the stock seat with a custom seat can enhance the look and feel of your bike. Believe it or not, this really makes a huge difference.
- Suspension - Lower your front and rear suspension system on your motorcycle. There are so many different approaches when it comes to lowering your motorcycle, which can range from purchasing a suspension lowering kit, new performance suspension all the way up to air rides. These components can and will make a major difference they way your bike rides and look.
When it comes to customizing your bike, it really boils down to your own particular preferences, because we all have our own personal unique vision and certain way we approach things. So hopefully, these basic steps which was advised to me can assist you on your road to a custom creative flow. Nevertheless, have fun and always ride safe.
