My Night Train Project Part 2

Posted on October 15th, 2008 by Nixon in Motorcycle Project

Few days ago, I picked my motorcycle from Todd’s Cycle and was able to ride this past weekend to Cook’s Corner. To be honest I was debating to either leave the bike at the shop or wait until it was completely done. Did I forget to mention that the bike is not completely done as of yet?

Last week, I was told that my motorcycle would be ready for pick up and I was pretty much set to go. Then on Thursday morning, I received a phone call from Todd’s Cycle and they informed me that the custom handle bar, which I requested, would need to be sent back to get re-polished and chromed all over again. So, they gave me two options, which were either leave the my motorcycle and wait for my handle bars to come in for the final installation phase or pickup the partially completed motorcycle and come back the following week and have my handle bar installed.

During that time, it has been almost about 4 weeks since I actually rode my motorcycle anywhere. I was pretty much like a guy on crack, trying to find some form of guilty pleasure for the time lost. Just by reading this, you can pretty much say, that I decided to pick up my motorcycle on Friday and elected to have my handle bar installed once they come back from the shop.

It was a great weekend to go riding on that Sunday morning. The weather temperature was in the high 70’s, perfect riding condition because it was not to cold or hot that day. The roads where pretty much empty and it felt really nice to have the nice cool wind blowing in your face while riding. As you can tell, I was trying to take full advantage of the warm weather as much as possible, since winter season is pretty much knocking on my footsteps weeks away.

I really need give credit to Brandon from Todd’s Cycle for doing an excellent job on my ride. From my previous post on “The Long Awaited Parts from Performance Machine“, he pretty much bolted everything together on that list, from adding the custom fender kit from Performance Machine to creating a custom license plate. I would like to also thank Rich from Bitchin Seats, for creating one hell of an excellent solo seat for my ride. The design and leather quality is like no other in the market, major full kudos.

Anyway, here are some new updated images of my partially completed Harley Davidson Night Train.

    Dude….. that is badass! What kind of bars did you order? With your current setup, do you have to reach?

    @Roger:
    Thanks Roger, for the complements. =) I ordered some custom dive bars from Todd’s Cycle and will be adding 1 inch risers too. I will be reaching over a little, but hopefully it will turn out well. =)

    The front end kills it. Need to change out those stock front forks,headlight and handle bars. The inverted frront forks would be bad ass.

    Best looking Night Train I’ve seen. Is that still the 2 inch lowering kit in the rear? Chopping that rear fender looks much better, how much was cut off?

    Hi Nixon, Mke here from Queentown New Zealand, stumbled across your site while googling Nighttrains, i am looking at getting one within the next year and i have to admit yours is pretty close to how i envisage mine looking. Couple of questions if you don’t mind? 1. Is that the original rear fender that you have modified, or is it a new custom one, if so where did you get? 2. Is that a afterarket Harley Davidson seat, or again if not what is it? Thanks for your help if you have the time, and beautifull bike!!!!

    Basically I added a power commander, Screamin Eagle airfilter and Vance Hines pipes. This system is purely basic.
