A Big Boy Toy - 2008 Harley Davidson Night Train
A toy for the “Big Boys”, this is what I tell my friends when they see me riding around on my HD. It has been a while since I’ve written anything about my motorcycle project or information on any new modifications added on to my ride. So, I’ve decided to create this small video to [...]
Learn MoreHow to Hire the Right DJ

Have you ever experienced a moment in your time, when you walked into a club and noticed that the dance floor was nearly empty, but there seems to be a large amount of people just hanging around? Basically, you can feel that the vibe in the air is pretty much dead and makes you feel that you have entered a black hole and all the fun was just sucked away. Some of your friends may blame it on the venue and say that ambience was not right or maybe that it was just crowd.

When it comes to music, it is one of the key elements, which may the place into a fun social environment. However, trying to find the right dj may be a different story, since there are so many out in the market. One thing is for sure; a real good dj knows how to play for the crowd and not for himself. He is able to draw people into the dance floor rather than draw them out. Nevertheless, after being in the business for so many amounts of years, I learned to pick out the good djs from the bad ones.
Do and ask the Following:
- Demo Disk – All good djs can provide you with their latest demos. Get a copy of their mixes and really listen to it and determine if his/her music selection will be a fit for your club.
- Resume – Find out more information about his previous experience, where he/she currently spinning at and which promotional group has he/she spun for in the past. How long has he/she been spinning and what type of music does he/she specialize in.
- Crowd Following – Find out if he or she has a following. Having a dj that has a following can be an added bonus to your event by drawing additional more people to your club.
- Trial Run – Ask the dj if he can spin for a trial run, not during the prime time spot but rather 1 hour before. From here, you can determine how he can move the crowd and see if he is worth hiring.
